About the Job

Do you want to become one of our important special educators within the School Health Services in Lidköping Municipality? We are now looking for a special educator for our unit.

The conditions will be good, the focus of the work lies in preventive and health-promoting efforts in close dialogue with the principal and other colleagues in the student health team.

Job Responsibilities

The special educator works in the student health team together with the school counselor, school nurse, and school psychologist and operates at the school unit in close collaboration with the principal and educators. You will primarily have the task of working health-promoting and preventive. As a special educator, you will work with the principal, EHT, and educators to create a good educational learning environment with the goal that all students should feel good and develop based on their conditions and reach as far as possible. We see the importance of starting from the students' interests, motivation, and desire to learn together.

The work as a special educator is multifaceted and includes, among other things, assisting with your expertise in school development issues, collaborating with educators and the principal to find successful methods that benefit students' learning, supervising staff, and contributing to the work with educational assessments. As a special educator, you contribute the special educational perspective in the analysis of the mandatory assessment materials and assessment supports as well as the results of national tests. The special educator can contribute their expertise in planning the continued educational work with guidance and stimulation as well as extra adaptations. You will also participate in transitions within/between units and activities.

In addition to the work at the school unit, you will belong to a professional group with the municipality's special educators. In this group, you collaborate with special educators from preschool and primary school. This includes working on issues related to your own profession and conducting quality and development work.

All our professions within EHT have established main assignments that are anchored both within the profession, the principals' group, and our trade unions. This creates clear expectations for the roles in the operations and how the profession is utilized.

We are looking for someone who is a trained special educator or is currently in training. You can work both broadly organizationally and with individual students or groups. You are a present, attentive, clear, and organized person who acts unpretentiously and has the ability to create engagement, trust, and participation. You are structured and work purposefully and are well acquainted with the school's governing documents. You easily create good relationships and are a qualified conversation partner in educational matters with students, guardians, colleagues, and other stakeholders. You see opportunities in changes and have a positive and accommodating attitude and take great responsibility for your tasks.

You have good linguistic and written skills and good experience and knowledge of systematic quality work. You use proven experience and research to analyze and evaluate results as a basis for improvement work at various levels; children's and students' learning, teaching practice, as well as organization and routines. You are used to using digital tools and compensatory aids in teaching.
